The Story of a Photographer

Every photographer has a story of how they fell in love with the art of photography. For me, it was when my father brought home his first camera. I was about 12 years old and he walked in with a brand new Nikon F100 and about 20 rolls of film! Watching him learn photography and getting to see the images that he would bring home was incredible and I would get so excited every time he would show me a little about his beloved camera.

I was 16 when I finally got my very own camera. Digital photography was still new and the camera I bought had a whopping three megapixels! I felt like I was going to conquer the world and finally show up my dad with his OLD, obsolete camera! Fast forward 20 years and that old camera was passed down to me, and I have learned that it is still one of the best cameras Nikon ever made. If you can afford to work with film you can create beautifully stunning and emotive images, which is what I want to recreate with my own work.

Now, as a husband and father of four amazing children of my own, I love capturing those moments between moments that show a person’s character and personality and preserves their essence for the next generation.
